“We spent 4 hours with the flooring people, about 4 hours with lighting. And so, we were delighted you know. When you look at that many in a relatively short time, you think later, did we make the right decision? As it turned out, we really like what we have. And I don't think we would change anything now. So, it was a great experience!”, exclaimed Don.
Sylvia echoed the sentiment: “We’re so pleased with our choices.”

“People think we must have downsized,” Don chuckled, “well actually we didn't. So, it's all worked out really, really good.”

What truly stands out to Don and Sylvia, however, isn’t just their beautiful home—it’s the sense of community that has enriched their lives since moving in. “It’s so social here,” Don said. “We’ll go out for a walk in the evening, run into someone, and end up chatting for a half hour. We feel like we’ve known these neighbors for 10 or 15 years, but it’s only been two!”
Sylvia agreed, adding, “There’s just such a wonderful community of people here who we now consider friends.”
Low-Maintenance Living for Peace of Mind
An aspect of living in a low-maintenance Epcon community with friends all around them that Don and Sylvia love is they feel more relaxed when they travel.
“They take care of the lawn, the snow—everything,” Sylvia said with a chuckle. “We don’t even need a snow blower in the garage anymore! So, being here where everything's taken care, I mean, it allows us to not worry about anything.”

In addition to living in a community of wonderful people, Don and Sylvia love the clubhouse and pool at the center of planned and impromptu social gatherings.
“The clubhouse, the gatherings, the pool, all those aspects, it's the extra amenities as well as a great house,” Don said.
Sylvia particularly appreciates how the community caters to social gatherings. “The women do coffee first Tuesday of the month over at the clubhouse. But, you know, we do spontaneous things, too. So that's a real good part of this community.”

As Don and Sylvia reflect on their decision to move to an Epcon community, they couldn’t be more pleased. “You know, we just really feel blessed to be where we are at this stage of our lives in a home that we enjoy in this wonderful neighborhood. We feel blessed, all of us, to be a part of this.”
